New Delhi: Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan in the wake of crime of against women, has urged the government of India to take stern measures against the culprits. The Padma Vibhushan awardee, who was in Coimbatore for a concert said that severe punishment should be meted out to all those who are found guilty in this heinous crime.

The maestro said that we do proudly call our mother land as `Bharat Mata, but the fact is that `matas` are being raped in our own country. He felt now is the time that severe punishment should be given to such culprits who shame our country.

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was in Coimbatore for a concert, and was accompanied by sons—Amaan Ali and Ayaan Ali. The maestro laid stress on maintaining discipline in life—something which is found missing these days. He also enlightened everyone about the importance of music in his life.
