Radcliffe to be honoured for helping gays
Los Angeles: ‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe will receive a special honour to raise awareness about suicide prevention among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youths.
The 21-year-old will be honoured with Hero award by the Trevor Project, an anti-suicide/support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender teenagers, for being "an inspiration to sexual minority youths".
"It`s fantastic. The fact that they think of what I`ve done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honour," a website quoted Radcliffe as saying.
"I think that out of everything that I`ve done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I`m associated with," he added.
Radcliffe will receive the honour in May at a ceremony in New York.
