Raghubir Yadav aka Mungerilal publicly thrashed by wife
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Raghubir Yadav, on the run since September following summons and a court warrant in an alimony case, was arrested today after his wife Purnima alerted the police on seeing him at Mumbai Railway Station with his present partner, Roshni Achreja.
The estranged wife tried to stop them from escaping thus engaging in a tussle with Yadav. Talking about the fight, a source said to a news daily, “They were pulling each other’s hair and hurling abuses.”
The actor’s wife has been unsuccessfully seeking maintenance for herself and their son Achal.
"Actor Raghubir Yadav was caught at Mumbai Central Railway Station by Railway police after his wife alerted them. He was subsequently handed over to us. We arrested him as a warrant was issued against him by the Bandra family court," Senior Police Inspector VM Kakade at Dindoshi Police Station said.
“At night, I spotted Roshni returning from the washroom and followed her to see if Raghu was also there. Once I saw him, I spoke to almost all the passengers in my compartment about my case requesting them to help me get him arrested by the police. While I went to enlist the help of the railway police, Raghu and Roshni ran out of the station, and were getting into a waiting taxi. We got into a scuffle; he even abused me,” Purnima said.
Raghubir Yadav would be produced before the court tomorrow soon.
On September 19 last year, the Bandra family court hearing a case against Yadav filed by his estranged wife Purnima issued an arrest warrant against him. The court had earlier issued summons to Yadav for failing to appear in court for sometime.
According to the latest news, Raghubir Yadav has been sent to judicial custody till 7 June 2010, for not providing maintenance to his wife and their son Achal.
