Raja Chaudhary arrested for using fake document to get SIM

Mumbai: Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary was arrested last night for allegedly obtaining a SIM card using forged documents which mentioned address of his `girlfriend`s` neighbour as his, police said today.

Chaudhary was apprehended from outside Castle Tower building in suburban Oshiwara last night after a complaint from Mehul Kansaria (34), the resident of the building, U D Kadlak, Inspector at Oshiwara Police Station said.

According to police, Kansaria had received two mobile bills, one for January and another for February, yesterday at his residence in which Raja Chaudhary`s name was mentioned as the customer.

Shocked Kansaria rushed to the police station where he showed the bills stating Chaudhary did not reside in their house. Subsequently, a complaint was registered against the actor in the police station, police said.

Police said, the "Big Boss" winner Shweta Tiwari`s former husband used to come to the building frequently to meet his "girl friend" and actress Shraddha Sharma.

"Sharma and the complainant stay in the same building. We are probing as to how he managed to forge the documents and procured the SIM card," Kadlak said.

The actor has been booked under IPC sections 420 (Cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating) and 469 (Forgery for purpose of harming reputation), the officer said.

In January, Chaudhary was arrested for allegedly assaulting his former wife and the `Big Boss`` winner Shweta Tiwari at her residence in suburban Malad but was granted bail later.

In November last year, the Oshiwara police had arrested the actor and his "girlfriend" Sharma, after the two were booked for allegedly causing nuisance by fighting in public, police said.
