Rajesh Khanna’s ladylove Anita Advani not interested in the late superstar’s property Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai: Rajesh Khanna’s supposed live-in partner Anita Advani, who had ruffled up quite a few feathers in the late superstar’s close circle a few days back, has now got different things to say. News had it that Advani had sent a notice to Khanna’s family asking them to not evict her from Ashirwad, the actor’s bungalow on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai.

According to reports, Anita Advani’s notice to the Khannas included allegations of domestic violence too. However, the lady now has something else altogether to state. In a recent interview she was heard saying, “I want Aashirwad to be made a museum. The allegations against me are wrong; I have no greed or interest in this property. This property should go to the people of the country and be made a museum.”

Initial reports claimed that Anita had placed herself as an obstacle between Rajesh Khanna’s family and their wish to convert Ashirwad into a Rajesh Khanna museum by refusing to move out. The notice that Advani had sent to the Khanna family was a day before the superstar breathed his last. Ever since, it hasn’t been possible to understand the true nature of the dispute. Some reports had stated that Anita Advani demanded a share of Rajesh Khanna’s property, and others informed about Advani’s displeasure at being evicted from Ashirwad. The superstar expired on July 18, 2012.

Rajeshji house in Mumbai should definitely be turned into a national heritage/museum for his world wide fans. This could be India's Graceland. - Purnima Siby - London
From what i gather from the news articles, Anita Advani cared for the great artist Rajesh Khanna, when all his family had left him. That surely entitles her to stay in 'Ashirbad' at least till her death, even if she is not made the owner and the legal family gets it later. Apparently the house can be made into a museum after her death, as she herself is part of Rajesh Khanna's life history, irrespective of what his 'family' think. - Ch Navakanta Mishra - Bhubaneswar
