Rajinikanth to raise funds for tsunami-stricken Japan

Expressing his grief over the quake-tsunami that ravaged Japan, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has come out in full support of the victims by raising funds for the crisis hit Japan, which is standing on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe. Apparently, Rajinikanth, who takes active part in social works, charities and donations, has set up a special team, which will visit tsunami hit Japan and help as many people it can.

Mumbai: Expressing his grief over the quake-tsunami that ravaged Japan, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has come out in full support of the victims by raising funds for the crisis hit Japan, which is standing on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe. Apparently, Rajinikanth, who takes active part in social works, charities and donations, has set up a special team, which will visit tsunami hit Japan and help as many people it can. It is believed that Rajinikanth has appealed to everyone to come forward and help millions rendered homeless in Japan. Talking to a daily, a source said, “Rajini Sir will do whatever is within his capacity and therefore he has appealed to his co-actors from the industry.” The source added that Rajinikanth will make huge donations for this cause, just the way he does for all philanthropic causes. South actors Suriya, Vijay and Kamal Hassan have also promised the Tamil superstar to help with funds. Meanwhile, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who will be seen in `Raana` with Rajinikanth has also come forward to support Japan`s crisis and promised to raise funds in Bollywood. Rajinikanth has a huge fan following in the country. In fact, the actor’s film ‘Muthu – The Dancing Maharaja’ and ‘Endhiran’ were huge Box Office hits in Japan.
