Mumbai: Director-producer Rajkumar Santoshi has filed a report at Juhu Police Station, Mumbai alleging that he has been threatened for life by producer Firoz Nadiadwala.
Firoz Nadiadwala had first come to his house threatening to kill him, and he only found the servant, he made phone calls to him, claims Santoshi. Thereafter, the filmmaker reported to the police station late on Thursday night. He claims that Firoz has been threatening him for money for some time now. And the death threats and intimidation have finally made him lodge a complaint with the police.
Although not much has yet been revealed, the case has been filed against Firoz under sections 452 and 506 under the Indian Penal Code. The police have begun an investigation in the matter.
Firoz Nadiadwala is the brother of producer Sajid Nadiwalla and is himself an established film producer in Bollywood, with films like ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Aarakshan’ in his kitty. Santoshi’s upcoming movie with Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D`Cruz - ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’, is scheduled for release in the last week of August. The Filmfare Award winning director has made some of the top grossing movies in the last two decades like ‘Damini’, ‘Ghatak’, ‘Pukar’, ‘Khakhee’ and ‘Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani’.
Hope the producers clear the clouds of this dispute amicably.
