Mumbai: The ‘Rangeela’ team of Urmila Matondkar and Ram Gopal Varma have once again come together. This time to promote Ramu’s upcoming film ‘Not a Love Story’.

The filmmaker and the actress have together provided several Box Office hits like ‘Rangeela’ and ‘Satya’ in the past. Infact many felt Urmila was Ramu’s muse. There were also rumours about the two being in a relationship mid nineties, which the duo had denied. Apparently they had a fallout when another upcoming actress snatched the spotlight away from Urmila.

The actress had even done an item number in the Box Office dud ‘Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag’ in 2007. Now, the actress is back to support Ramu’s upcoming film ‘Not A Love Story’ starring Mahi Gill.

The film is already in news as the story draws inspiration from the Neeraj Grover Murder case. RGV recently acquired the rights to the ‘Ho Jaa Rangeela Re’ song from his own directorial venture ‘Rangeela’ for ‘Not A Love Story’. The director has asked the original ‘Rangeela’ girl to launch it in Delhi on the 19th of July.

Speaking to a daily, a source said, “Ramu has come up with the unthinkable. He has brought in Urmila Matondkar on whom the song was picturised in the first place to unveil it in Delhi.”

With Urmila being roped in for the promotion of the film, the interest about the film is only going to increase. Ramu and Urmila have been part of some interesting projects in the past. She worked with the filmmaker in many films including, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Daud’, ‘Satya’, ‘Mast’, ‘Kaun’, ‘Jungle’ and ‘Bhoot’.

When contacted, Ramu denied the news outright. However, Sunil Bohra, the producer of the film said, “Yes, we are unveiling the song on the 19th in Delhi. But I am not aware of Urmila doing the honours. Ramuji is the right person to comment.”

Sources have revealed that Urmila’s presence would be a surprise package at the conference.

Let’s hope that that the friendly gesture is not limited to only a press conference and it gets extended to a full fledged film. Because Ramu works the best with Urmila!
