Raza Murad`s son to join Bollywood soon
Jaipur: Veteran actor Raza Murad says his son Ali is studying theatre in London and will soon return to take up acting as his profession.
Murad, who shot to fame playing supporting and villainous roles in numerous films, said his son would have to make his own place in the industry with his talent and hard work.
"Everybody has to make his own place by his talent and hard work in the industry. There is no short cut and no tag of family works. The same applies to my son also who is at present learning theatre in London and would return soon," Murad told reporters here.
Distinguished for his strong voice and dialogue delivery, Murad, during his recent visit to the city, said there has been a shift in acting pattern over the years and actors are more experimental these days.
The 66-year-old actor said that the earlier trend of being specialised in playing roles of villains and comedians has now vanished and acting is more generalised today.
"Actors like Pran sahab, Jagdeep, Asrani established their identities by doing specialised roles but today acting is more general.
"Actors used to be image conscious then but now heroines are also playing negatives, it is a notable change," he said.
Expressing concern over the explicit contents in films allegedly casting adverse impact on society, Murad said that the Censor Board should not be liberal in doing its job.
"Sometimes, the Censor Board is observed taking a lenient view with regard to certain explicit contents, which should be restricted, on screen. The board should be strict in curbing such contents," he said.
Murad, who is currently starring in the TV serial `Madhubala: Ek Ishq Ek Junoon`, says he is excited about the instant results of shooting for television shows.
"The shooting was canned in the day and the serial was aired in the night on the same date. In films we have to wait for the outcome for a longer period.
"I have been working for both the small and the big screen and I found advantage in both of them and disadvantage in none," he said.
In coming days, Murad is all set to appear in the role of a Sarpanch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s upcoming film `Ram Leela` and as a police commissioner in Dharma productions` `Ungli`.
