Rick Ross arrested on outstanding drug charge warrant

Los Angeles: Rapper Rick Ross has been arrested in North Carolina on an outstanding warrant resulting from his failure to appear in court over a 2013 drug charge.

The 38-year-old rapper, AKA William Leonard Roberts II, was taken into custody late on Friday night, suggest reports.

He was allegedly arrested last year for possession of marijuana but failed to turn up at court. Ross was apprehended by authorities after his performance at the SuperJam 2014 at the Greensboro Coliseum.

A warrant was out for Ross and the moment he entered the state the North Carolina police were gearing up to arrest him. He was apparently cooperative with the authorities and a SuperJam representative said Ross had paid the USD 1000 bail and has been released.

This is not the first time Ross has had run-ins with the law. In 2008 he was arrested in Miami on gun and marijuana charges, and once again for possession of the drug in 2011. He was also sued for battery and assault in 2008 in Houston.
