Ronnie Wood thanks girlfriend for sobriety
London: Rocker Ronnie Wood has credited his new girlfriend for his 60 days of sobriety.
The guitarist, who has endured a hard battle with alcohol addiction and entered a rehabilitation centre seven times over the last 30 years, hasn`t touched booze or drugs for the last two months after attending either a Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meeting daily.
And he`s thankful for the support of his girlfriend, Ana Araujo, who he started dating earlier this year.
"I`ve done 60 days of clean and serene and I can`t see any way of stopping. I`m doing 90 meetings in 90 days. I do a meeting every day. It`s a helluva bloody thing. I go from Surrey all over London - I just go to NA or AA and just keep it going.
"Ana`s a good girl. She is very attractive. She is lovely and very supportive. I have to pat myself on the back for it - because it`s a long journey, you know," The Daily Express quoted him as telling Daily Mail.
He adds, "I`ve got a big strength in the fellowship. It`s good. Glen (Matlock) is on the program as well and is a really good support. And Kenney`s (Jones) been great, and Mac (Ian McLagan) and Mick (Hucknall)."
