Mumbai: The latest from the Kapoor clan to make it to Bollywood is producer Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun, who is already gathering a lot of appreciation for his yet-to-be released debut flick ‘Ishaqzaade’.
This rustic looking lad used to weigh over a hundred kilos and had aspirations to become a director. And that is when Salman Khan came into the picture. The ‘Dabangg’ superstar asked him to pursue acting as a career. On Salman’s advice, this kid Kapoor turned from flab to fab and now sports a slim physique.
Talking to DNA about how Salman boosted his confidence, Arjun said, “Back then, I was so overweight, becoming an actor was not even a distant dream. I was pursuing direction seriously and was assisting a lot of directors. I met Salman Bhai (actor Salman Khan) on the sets and got acquainted with him.
He instilled that sense of belief and confidence in me and pretty much took me under his wing. I was very focused on being a director until I gained confidence and shed the extra weight. That is when a faint possibility of being an actor crossed my mind.”
But latest news has it that all is not well between Arjun and his mentor Salman Khan. Buzz has it that Khan refused to promote ‘Ishaqzaade’ through his Twitter account.
Here’s hoping that the duo reconciles for good.
