New Delhi: The verdict in the prolonged case of Salman Khan's hit and run case is finally out. The Bollywood star on Wednesday was pronounced guilty in the 2002 hit-and-run case by a sessions court in Mumbai.

The superstar has been sentenced to 5 years in jail and was held guilty of all eight charges in the infamous hit-and-run case.

As the verdict was announced, Salman was surrounded by his family members who looked equally pale like the actor. The 49 year-old superstar broke down in tears as soon as he was pronounced guilty.

Salman will be taken to Arthur Road Jail tonight. But before that, the actor will be taken to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for a medical test. Salman reportedly suffers from a heart ailment. His medical certificate has been produced before the court.

Salman will have to go to the HC for bail now, because if sessions court pronounces a punishment for more than 3 years then they can not grant bail, said Majeed Memon, a noted lawyer.

Salman's lawyer Shrikant Shivade and sister have reached the Bombay High Court to appeal for bail. The actor's fingerprints are being taken.

Bombay HC will hear Salamn's bail plea today.

While the verdict has completely shook the entire nation, industry stalwarts have come out in support of Salman. The crucial 13 years case has literally brought the industry to a standstill as everyone is devastated over the news.
