Mumbai: Was the recent spat between actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt a mere publicity gimmick? If we go by the behaviour of the two, it seems like it.
Over the past few weeks, there have been reports of cold war between the actors. Just days after Sanjay and Salman were announced as the host of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ season 5, came the news of differences between the two actors.
After a much publicised brawl between Sallu and producer Bunty Walia at Sanju’s wife Maanayata’s birthday party, sources close to the actors said that things had soured between the two. Dutt was allegedly upset with Salman for picking a fight with Bunty at his party. Dutt was also not happy with Salman’s offer to play his father in upcoming film ‘Bodyguard’.
Few days later, rumours started floating that Salman had threatens to walk out of ‘Bigg Boss’ for reasons best known to Salman himself. Reports also suggested that Salman did not appreciate when Sanju invited arch enemy Shah Rukh Khan over for dinner. People speculated if Sanju was changing camps as the camaraderie between SRK and him seemed way too obvious.
While news of differences in issues between Sallu and Sanju kept floating, one daily splashed pictures of the two shooting for ‘Big Boss 5’. Eyewitnesses say that the duo seemed comfortable and there were no signs of any kind of fight.
The big question here is, was this all a publicity gimmick to garner interest right before the first promo of ‘Big Boss’ goes on air? The method in the past has been adopted for promoting several brands. Remember the much publicised break up of Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan? Or the initial link up stories of Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor?
We all know that Salman is the sort who keeps grudges against people for a long time, so it seems surprising that he patched up with Sanju so quickly. Well, if at all there was a fight, must say that the duo patched up pretty soon and strategically before the show goes on air.
