Mumbai: On the occasion of completing 25 years in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan launched his biography titled, 25 Years of a Life penned by journalist-turned-author Samar Khan in Mumbai on Wednesday. Present at the book launch were directors like Kundan Shah and Abbas-Mustan who gave hits like Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa and Baazigar in early days of his movie career.
The book is a picture-depiction of characters played by Shah Rukh over the years that struck a chord with the audience and critics. One of the motivations behind writing a character-centric biography as described by Samar was Shah Rukh’s relation with all his roles. “Nothing else resonated so much when he said that 'as an actor, every character that I do I leave a small part of me behind the character'...”, said the author. The journey for the book started when Samar decided to revisit the characters that Shah Rukh played over the years.
On an interesting note, the Fan star who recently launched the book, has himself written the forward. “Whether it was a Rahul, Raj, Mohan or Aryan, each of them took a piece of me and departed, leaving behind a little of themselves”, the dapper looking star has written in his forward.
The King of Romance shared his happiness on Twitter where he posted a selfie with the book and captioned it as, "Thk u @samarmumbaikhan this is so special. The book is lovely & my lil 1 is happy to c so many papas #25yearsofalife"
