Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan now has a new partner in the Hindi film industry – Farah Khan. Once thick buddies, the relationship between the two has gone through several crests and troughs, the latest being the slap gate fiasco involving King Khan and Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder. However, once the bones of contentions were laid to rest, the two friends have revived their friendship, and now are keen on working as co-producers.
SRK has earlier been seen producing several films with others, and almost always the results have been fabulous. Barring ‘Kaal’, in which he turned co-producer alongside Karan Johar, the actor has been successful as a producer thus far. ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ (2008), My Name Is Khan (2010), ‘Don 2’ (2011) have all tasted tremendous success at the Box Office. Another film, which is currently in production, ‘Student Of The Year’ has the actor producing it along with Karan Johar.
As far as Farah Khan is concerned, Shah Rukh has proposed the two take their friendship to the level of professional partners, and much to his pleasure, the former accepted. Till date, the industry has seen King Khan produce films only with close friends. After the much publicised fiasco which was instrumental in tarnishing the friendship between Farah and SRK, the two decided to patch up. And raising a toast to their newly-revived friendship, the two will now be seen producing ‘Happy New Year’, which until now, Farah was only supposed to direct.
According to Farah, “It was SRK’s suggestion. While we were planning the film, he said ‘it’s high time we became partners’. No doubt I’m happy about it. But it’s SRK who deserves the credit for the partnership.”
Here’s wishing the new partners all the best!
