Melbourne: Leading Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Priyankya Chopra today launched the 12-day-long Indian Film Festival here.
Speaking at press conference, Priyanka said Indian films are being noticed world over. "What we offer as Indian movies is colour and culture and music and celebration and drama and love, and I think that`s representative of our culture. I think Indian movies are going beyond just the shores of India or the South-Asian subcontinent - it`s going all over the world," the actress said. Shahid, who is starring with Chopra in ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, said: "I think what`s beautiful about our films is that they`re different from the kind of films that people get to see otherwise, and I think that`s why we kind of stand out. Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said they will screen 40 films during the period, including the world premiere of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’. "It`s just about bringing these two worlds as close as possible and being this really good, fun, cultural bridge between the two countries," Lange said. PTI
