Mumbai: Trouble seems to be brewing for Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt. After the Bombay HC issued a warrant against Dutt for confiscation of all his property for duping Bollywood producer Shakeel Noorani, Sanjay Dutt’s Mumbai office has been sealed.
Talking to the media, Dutt’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant refuted all the claims made by Noorani and said that Dutt did not owe any money to Noorani. He also made a startling revelation that in an extortion bid, Bollywood producer Shakeel Noorani used underworld connections to harass Dutt.
Earlier, Noorani claimed that Dutt owed him Rs 2.03 crore, which included Rs 50 lakh cash, paid to him as signing amount for an under-production film `Jaan Ki Baazi`.
The Bombay High Court ordered that two properties belonging to the 51-year-old actor be made part of a proposed financial settlement with the filmmaker Shakeel Noorani.
Speaking to the media, Shakeel Noorani said, “I gave Sanjay Dutt Rs 50 lakh in cash. Half of the film was complete. He did not work for free and we gave him the fee that he quoted.”
Sanjay Dutt on the other hand said that he would be filing a defamation suit against producer Noorani.
