Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Sonu Nigam perform at the WC opening
Dhaka: The Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh witnessed a spectacular opening of ICC Cricket World Cup on Thursday. While performances of Bagladeshi artists like Runa Laila drove the crowd mad, Canadian pop star Bryan Adams’s performance was the highlight of the show.
Bollywood also made its presence felt at the opening ceremony. While singer Sonu Nigam crooned an English number, Shankar Ehsaan Loy set the mood with the World Cup anthem ‘De Ghumake’.
Crowds cheered when Canadian pop star Bryan Adams came on stage with his band. The legendary singer sang hit songs like ‘18 till I die’, ‘Let’s make a night’ and the evergreen ‘Summer of `69’.
Fireworks, performances by local artists were the other attractions of the opening ceremony.
