Sharmila confirms 2012 wedding while Saifeena remain tight-lipped

Mumbai: Amidst confusion and speculation about the impending marriage of star couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Saif’s mother, actress Sharmila Tagore has confirmed that the wedding would take place in October in Delhi. The veteran actress while speaking to a tabloid stated that the wedding ceremony would be in Delhi in October which will be a private affair attended only by close family members of both sides. The couple will later host a lavish reception for the film industry in Mumbai. There were earlier speculations that the wedding would take place in Pataudi palace near Gurgaon as many had indicated that the renovation of the palace was being done specially for the wedding. Refuting the reports, Sharmila said, “After Nawab sahab’s funeral, the garden and the area nearby at the Pataudi palace needed some work. We are getting it renovated and a wall has been built. But it has nothing to do with the wedding.” While the couple in question has maintained a stoic silence on the entire wedding issue, Sharmila and her daughter Soha have confirmed about the wedding. Infact, few months back Soha had tweeted that the wedding would take place on October 16. The date of the wedding is yet to be confirmed but Sharmila has confirmed that the wedding is indeed happening this year. News also has it that Sharmila’s younger daughter, jewellery designer Saba is helping her mother in organizing the wedding. But while Sharmila has always maintained that the wedding will be taking place this year, both Kareena and Saif have come out with different versions each time they were questioned about the wedding. And now since mum has divulged more details about the big fat wedding, it will be interesting to see how Saifeena deviate from the topic this time around.
