Shilpa Shetty's father Surendra Shetty passes away

New Delhi: Actor Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty's father Surendra Shetty breathed his last at Kokilaben Ambani hospital on Tuesday.

According to PTI, Surendra Shetty suffered a heart attack while sleeping at his residence in suburban Andheri.

Shilpa too confirmed the news and released a statement which said, "We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing away of Surendra Shetty, husband of Sunanda Shetty and loving father to Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Shamita Shetty."

"He took his last breath at home. We request your co-operation and support to respect the family's privacy at this crucial time," the actress added further.

The cremation will take place at 10.30 AM on Wednesday at Pavan Hans in Juhu.

He was into the business of manufacturing tamper-proof water caps for the pharmaceutical industry.
