Mumbai: Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan, who were at logger heads since `Darr` days reconciled on their way back to India from Toronto post the IIFA event. However, their rivalry hasn’t ended completely so to say.
Reportedly, the Punjab da puttar’s film `I Love New Year` and King Khan’s `Don 2` are slated for Christmas release this year.
Talking to a daily, a source said, “Bhushan Kumar’s ‘I Love New Year’ was previously slated to release on December 30th, but now it will release on December 23rd incidentally, on the same day Shahrukh’s ‘Don 2’ releases and his producers, Excel Entertainment had announced the date of release well in advance.”
But producer Bhushan Kumar has landed in a dilemma. He shares a warm relationship with SRK and does not want professional clashes to affect his personal equation with the superstar.
“However, in this case more than Sunny, it appears, `I Love New Year’s` director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru are responsible for this clash. This can also be their way to get back at SRK who refused to give them the title `Happy New Year` since the director duo is close to Salman Khan. They are confident about their film. However Bhushan Kumar, the producer of the film is in a fix as he is close to SRK,” the source added.
Narrating what exactly happened between SRK and Dharam’s son, a source said, “There has been a long history to their rivalry. Both of them worked together for the first and last time in Yash Chopra’s Darr. Sunny was a huge star back then while SRK was a newcomer. After the film released an otherwise soft spoken Sunny Deol lashed out at Yash Chopra and SRK for giving him a raw deal in the film. Sunny is someone who forgets but does not forgives. Now both of them again met at the Toronto airport where they were present for an award ceremony and started chatting. However, that might be only on the personal level.”
