Swayze`s internet fans set new Guinness World Record

London: Fans of Patrick Swayze have made a Guinness World Record by posting maximum comments online in tribute to the `Dirty Dancing` star on his first death anniversary.

The actor succumbed to pancreatic cancer on September 14 last year and to mark a year since his passing, Swayze`s online devotees descended on Facebook`s Dirty Dancing page to remember the actor.

And the huge amount of postings made an entry into the book of world records, reported Contactmusic.

Officials ruled the fans had made the most ever comments on a single Facebook post, with 10,260 notes left in honour of Swayze.

A post on the social networking site reads, "Thanks to all fans who commented on Patrick`s RIP post on September 14th. You all are apart (sic) of contributing towards breaking a World Record for the most comments to a Facebook Post according the Guinness Book Of World Records!"
