‘The Hobbit’ actor Manu Bennett was arrested after he allegedly punched a man during a party in San Antonio, Texas.
Los Angeles: ‘The Hobbit’ actor Manu Bennett was arrested after he allegedly punched a man during a party in San Antonio, Texas.
The New Zealand-born actor, 45, was in town for the Alamo City Comic Con and attended an after party at a hotel, where the incident reportedly occurred around 4.30am on September 13, reported Variety online.
Bexar County Magistrate's Office records show Bennett was released from jail around 1 pm on the same day.
Reps for Bennett had no immediate comment about the arrest.
Bennett is listed on the Celebrity Guest portion of the Alamo City Comic Con site and had been scheduled to attend September 12 and 13.
The actor portrayed Azog the Defiler in the ‘Hobbit’ trilogy, the gladiator Crixus in the TV series ‘Spartacus’, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in the CW show ‘Arrow’ and is set to appear as Allanon in the upcoming MTV series ‘The Shannara Chronicles’.
