Sydney: Photos of Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn, who was renowned for her timeless beauty and charm, were retouched for the publicity of the film ‘Breakfast at Tiffany``s’, it has emerged.
The never-before-seen publicity images of the actress feature in an upcoming coffee table book, which will mark the 50th anniversary of the film, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
While the flaws may not be obvious to the naked eye, the photo features pencil marks made by the film’s art director, indicating where the 32-year-old``s skin required smoothing in order to eradicate the crows feet and small lines around her eyes.
‘Breakfast at Tiffany``s’ premiered in the US on October 12, 1961, catapulted Hepburn``s career and redefined the romantic comedy genre after it was lifted from the pages of Truman Capote’s novella.
The film was nominated for Best Art Direction at the 1962 Academy Awards.
