Tom Cruise just wants to `cruise` ahead in showbiz
Los Angeles: Actor Tom Cruise`s mantra of superstardom in Hollywood is to work non stop and turn a deaf ear to his critics.
The `Top Gun’ star, who is married to actress Katie Holmes with whom he has a four-year-old daughter Surie, admits his motto is "don`t stop" as he just gets on with things, Showbiz Spy reported online.
"Don`t worry about the pressures of life, think positive and get through it. I`m just forging ahead. Don`t stop, that`s what I say. Don`t stop. I`ve heard so many things, going back to Top Gun and Rain Man and Born on the Fourth of July. `He`s not going to make another movie`; `He`s just a teen idol`; `It`s going to destroy his career`," Cruise said.
"People are going to say whatever they`re going to say. I`ve read it and seen it all before. That`s just the way it is. What are you going to do?," he added.
The 48-year-old actor also took a dig at the critics who feel that movies like his latest action film `Knight and Day`, where he starred opposite Cameron Diaz, don`t require much acting skill.
"It requires a tremendous amount of skill. You have comedy, drama and action and it`s very dynamic so it`s actually four times the workload. Action movies are difficult
and this has everything I love in movies. We did everything we could to make it non-stop, unpredictable fun," Cruise said.
"The repartee between us was just boom-boom-boom. Cameron`s style of humour is unique and I love the way she can mix physical comedy with romance," he added.
