New Delhi: After starting his career with a love story like `Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai`, Tusshar Kapoor went on to star in a string of comedy films but actor is all set to don a romantic role once again in Barjatyas upcoming project.
Tusshar has bagged a solo romantic lead in Barjatyas` Rajshri Productions. Amrita Rao has been signed as the leading lady opposite Tusshar in the film. This would be her second film with Barjatyas after `Vivah` where she had Shahid Kapoor for company.
"Yes, I have signed this film with Rajshris. It is a romantic outing and I am glad that it is also a solo hero project. It has been ages since I did one," Tusshar told PTI.
Tusshar`s last few films have all been multistarrers. Whether it was `Life Partner`, `Golmaal Returns`, `One Two Three`, `C Kkompany`, `Dhol` or `Shootout At Lokhandwala` - each of them has featured two to three other lead actors.
"This is a young love story and would be pretty much identified by the youth in India today. It talks about the romance and relationships in the lives of today`s youngsters.
Also, at the core of it all, there is family drama as well," said Tusshar.
The film would have an urban setting to it, unlike the small town setting that last two films by Rajshri Productions - `Vivah` and `Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi` - boasted of.
"It is today`s film but at the same time, just like any other Rajshri film, this one too would have a definite Indian feel to it," said Tusshar who is currently neck deep shooting for `Golmaal 3`.
"The film isn`t restricted within any boundaries though. It would be identified by both urban audience as well as those on small towns.
After all any guy or a girl will always fall in love at least once in life. This movie is for every such youngster."
Sooraj Barjatya won't direct the movie as he is on a sabbatical of sorts. Instead, the man at the helm of affairs would be Manavsi who is making his directorial debut with this yet untitled film. Shooting for the film begins this July.
Meanwhile, there is a lot happening in Tusshar's professional life. While 'Golmaal 3' is all set to be a definite milestone for him in 2010, there are some other projects that are in the process of getting wrapped up soon as well.
While 'Shor' is almost through, quite some work has also been completed on 'Hum Tum Aur Shabana'. This is not all as he also has a ready film in the form of 'Run Bhola Run' which is waiting for the right release period.
"Yes, these are eventful months ahead," says Tusshar who has given at least one big success in most of the years ever since he made his debut a decade back with Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai' (2001).
"Last one year I was busy shooting due to which there hasn't been any release since 'Life Partner'. However, the films that are going to arrive now are really exciting."
Hinting the genre of each of his subsequent films, Tusshar adds, "We all know what 'Golmaal' series is all about and this time around, the fun quotient will be even bigger and
better. 'Shor' is a gritty and edgy slice of life film about urban people.
"'Hum Tum Aur Shabana' is a frothy and bubby film and I had some real good time shooting for it. It is really vibrant. As for 'Run Bhola Run', I can't wait to see it arrive in theaters. It is a laugh riot. Now that this Rajshri film has come to me, I am glad to be wearing my romantic hat again," said Tusshar.
