Mumbai: Twitter has become more of a mouth-piece for celebrities all over the globe. Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and the newest member Aamir Khan have taken to Twitterati with full gusto. Enough has been written on how Big B convinced Aamir on the benefits of Twitter, but the latest has it that it was actually a book gifted by Anil Kapoor to Aamir Khan, which propelled him to join the social networking site.
The book talked about why celebrities join Twitter, with even President Obama’s example as a case in point!
Anil loves browsing bookshops and one such occasion he came across this book on Twitter which made him curious as to why so many international and national celebrities have accounts on this micro blogging site. He purchased it and found it quite interesting. The other day he had a lunch meeting with Aamir Khan, where they discussed about social networking sites and Amitabh Bachchan’s invitation to Aamir to Twitter. It was then that Anil decided to gift Aamir this book.
Says a source close to the actor, "Anil is not interested in tweeting right now, so the book was of no use to him and he gifted it to Aamir."
Not just that, Anil even gave Aamir that much-needed nudge by telling him that even US President Barack Obama was active on Twitter. When the ‘3 Idiots’ actor returned to Mumbai after that trip, he began tweeting.
Anil confirms, "It`s a personal gift and I wouldn`t like to discuss the details." Aamir`s spokesperson confirms, "Yes. Aamir was given a book."
