It was when the ‘Chennai Express’ starlet reached the venue for a garba event; a group of protesters awaited her arrival to pelt eggs and tomatoes on her. According to a tabloid, a group of protesters gathered in the ground to object to the alleged controversial content in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Ram-Leela’. Deepika was saved from experiencing a harrowing incident, as the protesters were ready to shower eggs and tomatoes at her. The sources had revealed that when they were informed that the makers had agreed to remove the controversial content off the film, they left the ground. “Members of the Jadeja and the Rabari community were set to attack the actress as well as the organisers at the venue. The situation got tense but finally they backed down after they were told that the apparently offensive portions from the film had been re-dubbed, sources said. Speaking about the movie, the movie’s official spokesperson said, “‘Ram-Leela’ is a well-made film which does not antagonise, offend or disrespect any community, whatsoever.” ‘Ram-Leela’ is romantic drama starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Supriya Pathak and Richa Chaddha, and is ready to hit the theatres on November 15, 2013.
