‘Will you marry me,’ an infatuated Gerard Butler asks Priyanka Chopra

Ever since Scottish actor Gerard Butler’s visited India and met B-town chick Priyanka Chopra, the two have been courting all sorts of controversies. With Priyanka hosting a party in honour of Gerard at her new pad - Raj Classic in Versova on Thursday, the scuttlebutt hardly seems to die down! It is believed that the party was thrown under the pretext of a housewarming celebration, which the actress had been delaying for months.

Mumbai, May 02: Ever since Scottish actor Gerard Butler’s visited India and met B-town chick Priyanka Chopra, the two have been courting all sorts of controversies. With Priyanka hosting a party in honour of Gerard at her new pad - Raj Classic in Versova on Thursday, the scuttlebutt hardly seems to die down! It is believed that the party was thrown under the pretext of a housewarming celebration, which the petite actress had been delaying for months. News has it that the party went on till the wee hours of morning. According to an anonymous guest present at the party, “Of course the party was for Gerard who was completely besotted by Priyanka and kept proposing to her every half hour. It's become a standing joke rather a ‘kneeling’ joke between them. ‘Will you marry me?’ he knelt and said every half hour while she would burst into laughter. She’s clearly not interested on being Mrs Butler.” News has it that Butler is not in India to reconnoiter new film locations but to travel the country with his male acquaintances. According to a close source, “He’s already been to the Taj Mahal and all the other tourist places. He leaves India early next week. Meeting and spending time with Priyanka was definitely a part of Gerard’s plan. So Priyanka combined the long-postponed housewarming with Gerard’s presence.” The select guest list at Priyanka’s star-studded party included Shah Rukh and Gauri, Hrithik and Sussane, Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, Avantika and Imran Khan, Shrish Kunder and Farah Khan, Arjun Rampal and Meher Jessica, Sanjay Kapoor and Mahip, Farhan Akhtar with his wife, Kangana Ranaut and Ritesh Sidhwani to name a few. An anxious Priyanka made a jittery host, who was running around guests to make them comfortable. According to one of the guests at the party, “Priyanka had never in her life hosted a party before. She wanted to do it just right. It was okay if she over-did the hospitality as long as she didn’t lack in her role as a hostess. The Mediterranean food was ordered from Aurus and was quite a hit with the selected invitees.” The interiors of Priyanka’s new house are done by Sussane Roshan, who looked much elated with her work and so was hubby Hrithik Roshan. With Shahid Kapur joining the party with choreographer Ahmed Khan, the party became a super hit! Priyanka’s shaking a leg with Gerard, clearly portrayed a chemistry between the two friends and the actor once again proposed Piggy Chops! However, Priyanka’s party became a contentious issue with neighbours complaining about loud music to local police. Confirming the news, SJ Nalavade, Senior Inspector at Versova police station verified the reposts and said, “We also imposed a charge of Rs 5,000 on Raja Mohammed Bashir, who was in charge of the music at the party.” According to a guest present at the party, “The police came around 1.30 am and asked the blaring music to be lowered. Priyanka had to obey the orders.” Well, so what if the neighbours played a perfect spoilsport at the party, Gerard Butler had the time of his life with Priyanka!
