Worried Tony Bennett ‘praying’ for Amy Winehouse

Washington: Veteran singer Tony Bennett has expressed concern for troubled star Amy Winehouse and he is praying for the British singer to clean up her act.

Bennett teamed up with the ‘Rehab’ hitmaker to record a song for his upcoming ‘Duets II’ album, which also features collaborations with Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga.

He is now worried for the young star, who cancelled her entire European tour following a shambolic set last month in Belgrade, Serbia, where she appeared to be intoxicated onstage.

Bennett is hoping Winehouse, who has endured numerous stints in rehab, is now able to conquer her demons once and for all.

“Of all the contemporary artists I know, she has the most natural jazz voice, but I’m worried about her and I’m praying for her. She’d help everyone by sobering up and cleaning up her spirituality,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling the Guardian.
