New Delhi: Even though Priyanka Chopra featured in the year’s first blockbuster (‘Agneepath’), she has been in news more for her alleged link-ups than her work and films this year. The ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ actress has been linked to Shahid Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and has even been accused of being a home-breaker for her friendship with Shah Rukh Khan. In spite of the all the allegation, Priyanka has maintained a stoic silence all throughout and has only spoken about her films and concentrated on her work. While promoting ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ in the capital recently, both Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka were asked whether rumours about their link ups affected their work. While Shahid took a moment to think, Priyanka answered promptly in the affirmative. “Yes, it affects me. I still feel bad when unnecessary things are discussed. Think from a regular girl’s perspective. How would she feel if her talking to guys is questioned? If she is generally chatting up with a boy and it is assumed each time that she will get married to him-it is just annoying,” said the actress. “I think people forget that I am a girl who is sensitive to such things and may get hurt in the bargain. They just remember that I am an actress and probably that’s why they discuss me so much. People say one gets used to it after a point on of time, but no, I haven’t gotten used to it. I think it is very rude to discuss such things,” added PC. But the actress cheekily admitted that she would get worried if one fine day people stopped discussing her. Even though they allegedly broke up last year, Shahid and Priyanka appeared at ease with each other while promoting their new film. They also seemed fine answering questions about their alleged link up, albeit in a diplomatic way. “When we first met on the sets of ‘Kaminey’, we didn’t like each other much. But once we started working, we realised we had much in common. The comfort level has remained over the years, which helped us both to work in ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’,” said Shahid. Priyanka added, “Once you are on the set, you need to shut yourself out to the outside world. Only then can you work and give your best.” The duo seemed excited portraying three different characters of three different eras in the film and said it was fun to go back in time. Directed by Kunal Kohli, the film is slated to release on June 22.
