Bollywood Music 2006

While on one hand, several music composers tried to shell out Electronica-influenced compositions, others endeavoured to stick to their roots, infusing more Indian-ness in their works. However, plagiarism issues continued in the Bollywood music scene with songs like ‘Ya Ali’ from the film Gangster under scanner.

The year 2006 in terms of Indian music turned out to be rather an experimental one. While on one hand, several music composers tried to shell out Electronica-influenced compositions, others endeavoured to stick to their roots, infusing more Indian-ness in their works. However, plagiarism issues continued in the Bollywood music scene with songs like ‘Ya Ali’ from the film Gangster under scanner. Pakistani singers continued to be hot-favourites amongst music buffs all across India. Owing to the fact that these talented lots from across the border found much acclaim in Hindi Cinema and captivated much fanfare with their heart-warming numbers, composers happily kept roping them in so as to taste success.
