Aishwarya to don Sabyasachi’s creation at the Cannes gala event

Mumbai: After being rebuked for flaunting creations by foreign designers, filmdom’s stunning beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has decided to don an Indian ensemble at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The scintillating beauty will walk down the red carpet at the gala event on Monday in a traditional outfit designed by none other than Sabyasachi. Until now Ash has been spotted in western outfits at Cannes. The stunner, who is present at the event in her capacity of a brand ambassador for Loreal, issued a statement confirming the news. A spokesperson for Ash said, "Aishwarya is there for Loreal year after year, and as per instructions she must wear international western designer wear. This time since `Raavan’ red carpet is also an occasion at Cannes, she planned to wear an Indian dress for the event. Her dress is designed by Sabyasachi." Directed by Mani Ratnam, "Raavan" is said to be a modern adaptation of the epic "Ramayana". It also stars actor Abhishek Bachchan and southern superstar Vikram, who plays a policeman married to Aishwarya. Aishwarya plays the lead role in both the Hindi and Tamil version of the film. Well, after Deepika was hailed for wearing a sari at the event as against Ash, it seems that the stunner has taken the comparisons rather seriously.
