London: The demand for ``designer dimples`` is rising as women are going to extreme lengths to look like their favourite celebrities, including Cheryl Cole, plastic surgeons have reported.
According to the Daily Mail, a company has said that they have seen an 11 per cent rise in inquiries in the past two months alone.
Health experts have, however, cautioned that dimples do not look natural after the operation, called as dimpleplasty, because they are present all the time, and not just when you smile.
"There is a worrying rise in demand for `designer dimples` as women go to ever extreme lengths to look like their favourite celebrities, including Cheryl Cole,” the Telegraph quoted a spokesman for plastic surgeons SurgiCare as saying
"The growing phenomenon has hit UK shores after a rapid rise in popularity in America. However, designer dimples are akin to permanent scarring and could turn to designer disasters as the face begins to droop with age,” the spokesman added.
