London: She is a Hollywood star worth millions, but `Kill Bill` star Daryl Hannah says that she does not spend a penny on clothes, choosing instead to wear hand-me-downs.
The actress who turned her back on Hollywood to settle down in a farm near the Rocky Mountains, sees no point in spending millions on designer labels, reported a news website.
"Everything I`m wearing is my mum`s. I get new clothes from other people`s hand-me-downs. I still fit into stuff I had when I was 17 and I can find anything I ever want in thrift shops," said the 49-year-old actress.
Having starred in such iconic movies as `Blade Runner` and `Wall Street` as well as `Splash`, Hannah gets plenty of offers from designers who want to dress her, but she usually turns them down.
"I recently got a note from Stella McCartney inviting me to wear one of her dresses at an event I was attending, so I borrowed a beautiful black gown and I enjoyed the sensation of wearing something so creative and special ? but I don`t need that buzz every day," said the actress.
She refuses to name any of the A-listers who come and hang out with her in the great outdoors, merely saying, "I`ve met a lot of people down the years and I have only stayed in touch with the nice ones, so I have a handful of close friends."
