Dressing Kim Kardashian would ‘bastardize’ me as designer: Ralph Rucci

New York: Designer Ralph Rucci has launched a scathing attack on Kim Kardashian, as he told a room full of design students that dressing the reality star would be “bastardizing” himself as a designer.

According to Fashionista, Rucci, who was in Georgia last week to receive the a lifetime achievement award from Savannah College of Art and Design, didn’t hold back on what he really thought of the reality TV diva.

“Many people who I think are the celebrities, other people don’t think are the celebrities,” the New York daily News quoted him as saying.

“What’s shocking to me is how important the red carpet is. I don’t think any celebrity can take away from fashion.

“Not even Kim Kardashian could take away from fashion,” he said.
Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, who was presenting Rucci with his award, played coy when it came to the rumours that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour had “banned” Kardashian from the 2012 Met Ball.

“Of course, Kim Kardashian didn’t come to the Metropolitan Met Ball but [her boyfriend] Kanye West did,” he said, cryptically.

Rucci doesn’t play hard-to-get with all famous faces. Some celebrities are worthy of his fashions.

“I bow to [actress] Tilda Swinton,” Rucci added.
