New Delhi: She is a former Miss Universe and has got years of modelling experience behind her but Bollywood star Lara Dutta still finds it challenging to be a showstopper.
"It is a challenge to be a showstopper and not just a model walking down the ramp. Even if you are a celebrity, you have to do justice to the clothes you are wearing and the designer you are walking for," said Lara.
In the capital on the last day of the Delhi Couture Week, Lara walked the ramp for designer Rina Dhaka in a black lehenga with a crystal-embellished blouse. The 32-year-old actress said it was quite a different experience to walk the ramp as opposed to acting in Bollywood.
"When you are used to doing the jhatkas and matkas, it becomes dificult to have a calm and composed walk down the ramp. But it feels great to be here today as it brought back memories of the times when I had started as a model and had worked with Rina back then in 1998," said Lara.
Rina`s collection was inspired by the cobwebs and saw ample use of nets. The range showed intense perforations, interweaving tangles and fringes textures, in the forms of sarees, lehengas and even kurtas in colors white, lemon yellow, pink and black.
