Italian hairstylist Rossano Ferretti opens salon in Delhi

New Delhi: After opening his maiden Indian salon in Mumbai in 2009, Italian hairstylist Rossano Ferretti has now arrived in the capital, with an aim of breaking myths about hairstyling.

"Women in India primarily believe long is beautiful. This is not true. A lot depends on the texture, styling and how the style compliments your face. So, I want to break these myths and tell people great hair doesn`t mean long hair," Ferretti told reporters at the launch of the salon Saturday. Ferretti, along with hair care brand Kerastase, has opened the salon -- Rossano Ferretti -- at the Oberoi Hotel in Gurgaon, adjoining Delhi. Ferretti has 20 salons worldwide - from New York and Miami to Paris and Milan. The highlight of the Gurgaon salon is that clients will get personal attention of a hair-expert who will discuss in detail hair issues, problems and the kind of hair-cut one wants to opt for. "I have always felt that interacting with your client on one-on-one basis helps a lot in understanding what he or she wants. You try to understand the person and his needs and then you cut his hair," said Ferretti, who charges a whopping $1,000 for a hair-cut in Manhattan. IANS
