London: Chanel boss Karl Lagerfeld has designed a USD 45,000 collar, featuring 40 carats of black diamonds with a 22.33 carat emerald as the centrepiece.
The 78-year-old designer, renowned for his signature high collar, created the neckwear out of metallic leather and said the piece is a show-stopper, reported Femalefirst.
"I`m renowned for my love of a high collar and I wanted to create a true collector`s item with this one-off piece. Merging the masculine with the feminine and uniting the world of fine jewellery and high fashion, to me this collar is a work of art and a real show-stopper," he said.
The piece will be part of an exhibit curated by Vogue jewellery editor Carol Woolton at the Masterpiece London Fair from June 27 to July 4.
