Meera, Muzaffar Ali bring old world charm on ramp

New Delhi: With intricately designed Kaftans and lehengas, the designer duo of Meera and Muzaffar Ali brought the old world charm to the second day of Delhi Couture week here.

The filmmaker-turned-fashion designer and Meera have created short dressed for the first time in their collection titled `Samaa`.

"Short dresses are part of our fashion industry and as we grow our dresses become short," Meera joked.

Qawwali provided the backdrop to the collection, which was divided into four diversions-pastels by Muzaffar Ali in earthy and natural tones, Ikat on chintz fabric and ended with

Awadhi opulence which saw his signature style farshi ghagras, lehangas, peshwaaz, choghas and sarees.

"We cannot term them as wedding trousseau rather they are interesting occasional wear which has zardozi and kamdani work in it. The paintings are my previous pastel collections that became dynamic when the models walked the ramp. I often use them as a form in my garments," said Ali.
