Priyanka turns coy; sheds her ‘glam image`
Mumbai: Unlike many of her contemporaries who try hard to look glam and sexy, Priyanka Chopra is striving to turn coy. The `Saat Khoon Maaf` star, who is all set to work with her ex-beau Shahid Kapoor in Kunal Kohli’s next will be seen in an unusual avatar.
Talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “Kunal Kohli and Manish Malhotra will make Priyanka turn coy and demure in her new role. She will wear pastel salwar-kameez outfits a la Sadhana, clingy sarees and knotted cholis like Sharmila Tagore and ghagra-cholis like Mumtaz.”
Director Kohli is hell bent on giving Piggy Chops a “story specific” appearance that makes her look completely different from her usual self.
Fashion designers Manish Malhotra and Kunal Rawal are busy working on her look that is based on the 1960s style.
"It`s a mad scramble to get the fashion of the 1960s on to celluloid without looking too retro or culture-specific. Kunal doesn`t want Shahid and Priyanka to look regional or cultural-specific as they did in `Kaminey`. They have to be from the 1960s, but not stereotypically so,” added the source.
Malhotra said, "The look we`re working on is 1960s Mumbai. The film has three distinctive looks. I`m a huge fan of that era`s fashion and music and I`ve always favoured pastel shades from the 60s and 70s."
Kohli was amazed to see Priyanka and Shahid sharing sizzling hot chemistry in the eight scenes they had between them in Vishal Bhardwaj’s `Kaminey`. So he is confident that Sasha and PC will recreate the same magic in his film...better than before.
