Vanessa Paradis is new face of Chanel
London: French actress Vanessa Paradis, the long-time partner of Hollywood heartthrob Johhny Depp has replaced British popstar Lily Allen as the face of Chanel.
The fashion house decided to end their arrangement with Allen, who was the ambassador for the Coco Cocoon bag, because of her wild partying ways.
The French actress who has promoted Chanel`s fragrance for two years is now the face of the house, reported Daily Mail online.
Label boss Karl Lagerfeld hosted a party in Cannes last week with French magazine Madame Figaro to celebrate the release of pictures of their new star.
According to a Chanel insider, there are no plans for any more work with the 25-year-old singer, who was notably absent from Cannes.
Lagerfeld, who described Allen as "fun", usually seats the singer in the front row of his shows, but the `Smile` hitmaker missed his show earlier this month in St Tropez, and was not invited to the Cannes party.
"Karl had a show and a party, but Lily was not invited. It was Karl`s way of making it clear she is no longer a part of the Chanel family. He instructed his people not to invite her," said the source.
"He is very strict about who can represent the brand and there is a feeling that Lily is too much of a party girl," said the source.
Allen fell out of favour last year after she embarrassed herself at a party at Lagerfeld`s Paris home, where she had to be taken away from the party because she had too much to drink.
