Recipe: Besan BurfiRecipe: Besan Burfi
Try out this mouth-watering burfi recipe.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Bengal Gram Flour
1 Cup Sugar (powder)
½ cup Ghee
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder Procedure:

Take a non stick fry pan and put it on low heat.
Cook the gram flour on low flame till it becomes aromatic.
Make sure the colour of the besan does not change. Add the sugar and mix well..
Remove from fire. Mix the cardamom powder.
Take a tray and smear some oil on the bottom and sides.
Spread this mixture on this tray.
When the mixture is set cut into small squares or diamonds.

   It is understood, that Besan flour is fried in Ghee. ( Answer to previous comments. ) If you take a thick bottomed Kadai and add 11/s cup sugar and add half cup water , make a 2 string sugar syrup , and then mix the fried besan in, it and when the consistency comes thicker, pour it in a ghee smeared plate. This will stay longer. Also , more pieces will come.  - Dr.Gowri Ramachandran - Chennai
   There is no use of ghee,as I read the procedure. Why we need this?  - s - s
