Orissa Special: Rasballi

It is a delicious dessert, that can be made easily at home.


1/2 kg chenna/cottage cheese
100 g flour
150 g sugar
1 litre milk
2tsp cardamom powder
Oil for frying

Drain the chenna. Add the flour and 50 g sugar and knead well.
Divide and roll the dough into medium - sized balls. Flatten them and deep fry on slow heat until dark brown. Drain.
In a pan, boil the milk and the rest of the sugar until reduced by a quarter, add cardamom powder and take off the heat.
Add the dumplings when the milk isn`t too hot to prevent the breakage. Serve hot or cold.
