Pongal Recipe: Ven Pongal

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 cup

Moong dal - 1/2 cup

Water -5 cupsGinger - 1 piece

Black pepper -1 tsp

Cumin seeds -1 tsp

Curry leaves 

Oil -according to taste

Ghee - 2 spoons

Salt 

Cashew nuts - 4 to 5

Method:

Firstly, heat the ghee and oil together, then you can put the black pepper and cumin seeds in it. Saute for a few minutes, then add ginger and curry leaves.

After this, mix the rice in it (the rice should be a little mashed). Add some cashew nuts and serve hot. You can savour your yummy dish with sambar or chutney.
