Recipe: Badam Kheer
Treat yourself to this delight after a meal!
Almonds (Badam), 1 cup
Milk, 6 cups
Sugar, 1 cup
Saffron Strands, 1/2 teaspoon
Water, 2 cups
Soak the almonds in hot water for an hour.
Drain the water and peel off the skin of the almonds. Grind the almonds to a fine paste, in a grinder. Use milk if required.
Heat a pan and cook the almond paste for about 5 to 10 minutes over low flame. Continue to stir it so that no lumps are formed.
Add sugar to the mixture and continue stirring.
Pour the remaining milk. Boil for about 15 minutes.
Garnish the kheer with a few saffron strands.
The delicious Badam Kheer is ready to be served!
