Recipe: Cheese Circles

Try out these awesome starters with your evening tea today.


For the circles

100 gms margarine or butter (at room temperature)
2 tbsp grated processed cheese
a pinch of chilli powder
100 gms plain flour (maida)
a pinch of salt

To be mixed into a cheese topping

2 tbsp butter (at room temperature)
2 to 3 tbsp fresh cream
3 tbsp grated processed cheese
a pinch of chilli powder

For the decoration

3 to 4 olives, sliced
a pinch of salt


For the circle

Beat the butter until light and creamy.
Add the cheese, chilli powder and salt and beat again.
Add the flour and make dough.
Roll the dough thinly and cut into small rounds.
Bake in a moderately hot oven at 180 degree C (375degree F) for 7 to 10 minutes.
Cool and store. Use when you want to serve.

How to proceed

Fit a star nozzle in a piping bag and fill the bag with the cheese topping.
Pipe out a circle on each round and decorate with sliced olives.
