Recipe: Coconut Rawa Burfee

As Diwali draws near, the price of sweets go soaring high and the quality touches the very bottom due to an overflowing demand and limited supply of key ingredients. Hence the best way to have delicious sweets this season is to make them yourself. So try out our delightful recipe of Coconut Rawa Burfee and surprise your guests.


1 cup grated coconut
½ cup Suji
½ cup khoya
2 cups milk
2 tsp cardamom powder
1 cup sugar (may reduce it if you prefer a less sweet burfee)
2 tsp ghee


Heat ghee in deep bottomed pan. Add coconuts and cook for 5 minutes. Now add suji and cook till golden brown. Pour milk and stir continuously till the milk dries up. Grate Khoya and add into the mixture. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Now cook till the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan. Remove from fire, spread on a plate and cut into diamond shaped burfees.
