Recipe: Nargisi Kofta Curry

Enjoy this unique and sumptuous curry, which has two diverse flavours!


500 gm Mutton
4 pieces Eggs (Boiled)
1 piece Egg
2-3 pinch Cardamom
A pinch of Cloves
50 gm Onion
2-3 pieces Green chillies
As per taste Salt
30 gm Fat
Seasoned flour to coat boiled eggs

For Curry

500 gm Tomatoes
½ tbsp Turmeric
1 tbsp Chilli powder
A pinch of Garam masala
2 flakes Garlic
15 gm Fat
As per taste Salt


1. Mince meat finely and add beaten egg.
2. Add chopped green chillies, onion, powdered cardamom, cloves and cinnamom and salt.
3. Dip eggs in seasoned flour. Coat with minced meat mixture.
4. Deep fry. Meanwhile, heat fat for curry. Add sliced onions and sauté. Add chopped garlic, turmeric and red chilli powder.
5. Add pureed tomatoes and salt and let it simmer. Add garam masala.
6. Add the koftas into the gravy. Simmer for about 30 mins.
7. Cut the koftas into halves and let each piece float in the gravy with yolk side up. Garnish with coriander leaves.
